All answers to what? you may ask.
Some questioning minds want an absolute answer to uncertainties the Bible has not answered; these topics have been floating around for ages. But–does the Bible have the answer to all these elusive debates?
Inquiring minds of both lay people and theologians have been stumped for years. Consequently, a partial understanding, according to man’s limited knowledge, has been somewhat accepted for a few of these harry subjects.
You may have searched for these questions yourself at one time:
Is there an age of accountability? Was the flood local or global? Who did Adam’s offsprings marry? What is the age of the earth? If God knows everything that has ever happened and will happen, can God’s mind be changed?
A pat answer doesn’t exist for most of these, and many more unanswered ones. The Bible though has included what we should know, but some other uncertain queries go unanswered.
God has included answers for our greatest spiritual need. He spoke to prophets who recorded Christ’s coming and of His death hundreds of years before He appeared. We read of wisdom and are given directions in His Word on how to live a life of integrity. He gave us enough knowledge to know the beginning of our time on earth. He also gives us hope of His return for us. He has given what we need to know.
Yet, it is good to have a seeking mind and heart that makes you want to search His Word for answers. Jesus has so much more depth for us to know. We only find that out as we dig in His Word and seek His Holy Spirit. The more you search, the more you learn of Him; all of it builds your thirst for more, but it is never suppose to completely satisfy all theological questions.
All of our questions cannot be discerned from the Bible. It purposely doesn’t allow us to know everything except for what God has revealed for us to know. He meant it to be that way. The apostle Paul acknowledges, “Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully” (I Corinthians 13:12 NIV). Our understanding of some issues we desire to know is limited or imperfect. Some day we will fully know.
