He Did it Again

Our archenemy isn’t hindered by holidays. He was accusing me again, he is a master at condemning.

I’m sure you have heard those accusations Satan drops in your mind that says you blew it again. He will remind you of some situation for which you may have already received God’s forgiveness, but he still accuses you in order to steal your joy and make you feel defeated. If you let him, he will continue with his charges.

In the midst of dealing with Satan’s blame-game, I remembered a scripture that was just the right answer. At first I didn’t quite remember the entire verse, or where it was located, but it says, “There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” I called on the name of Jesus, and used this verse as the answer against Satan. I felt immediate release of that condemnation.

A little later, as I picked up my Bible, a chapter in Romans came to my mind. I turned to this chapter and my focus started with the first verse of Romans eight. There was my verse! It correctly says, “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”

Let the Spirit of God speak to you when reading through His Word. Cement His powerful guidelines in your heart and mind, and then apply it against the enemy who has no strength behind his water-downed claims.

“Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires, but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires” (Romans 8:5, NIV). It’s God’s Spirit of Life that sets you and me free because Jesus paid the price for us to be forgiven.

If something has not yet been forgiven, I have found that I can turn Satan’s accusation against him immediately by confessing that wrong action or decision before God. The scripture teaches me that God’s Spirit empowers me to put to death the sinful acts and thoughts of my body, not in my own strength, but in His. When I’m willing to exercise His authority, I can say, “In the name of Jesus, I refuse to walk in this carnal way.” Therefore His power in me opens the way to victory. When we are forgiven, the intimidator’s accusation has no strength.

Don’t let the day end without God’s forgiveness. Hidden things give the enemy another opportunity to condemn again.
